A Warning to Holidaymakers: The Hidden Dangers of Rushing for Trains As the summer holiday season is in full swing, Greater Thameslink Railway (GTR) has sounded the alarm about a disturbing trend: people falling between trains and platform edges.
According to GTR, there have been 93 cases so far this year, a 43% increase from last year.
The data shows that around 500 London Tube passengers were injured in 2024 after becoming trapped in closing doors or falling between the train and the platform edge.
